From CAD to molded part in six steps.
Upload a 3D file, get instant pricing on one of five flat-rate Snapframes, dial in material and finish, approve the auto-generated drawing, and let SnapTracker run the program through to your dock. No mystery quotes, no DFM black box, no follow-up emails to chase status.
Create your account
Account first, files second. Snapfab signups are immediate — no sales gate, no demo call required to get a quote. Your dashboard, files, drawings, and reorders all live behind it.
Head to snapfab.com/sign-up and drop in your details. The account is what stitches every quote, drawing, file, and reorder together — open it once, and everything you upload afterwards lives in one place.
- No sales call to unlock pricing
- Everything saves to your dashboard — quotes, drawings, files, POs
Upload your CAD files
Drag a 3D model onto any page and Snapfab prices it instantly. Drop a whole assembly and we'll split it, pick the right Snapframe per part, and roll the totals up.
The secure uploader accepts standard neutral CAD formats. Pick the components you want molded; the rest stay in your project for context but don't get priced.
- Instant pricing as soon as the file lands
- Snapfab automatically assigns one of five Snapframe tiers per part
- Select which components from a multi-part upload to include in the quote
Modify your Snapframe
Snapfab assigns one of five flat-rate Snapframes based on the geometry of your part. Each frame bundles a tooling tier, lead time, and per-shot rate — pick your material, color, finish, and quantity, and the price updates live.
Tools are cut from steel and built to handle real production features — slides, lifters, side actions — so the same Snapframe that prototypes your part can also run a production volume.
- Pick a thermoplastic from the materials library
- Choose natural or custom color
- Set part finish level (SPI / texture)
- Adjust quantity — pricing updates live
- Add an iteration package for design rounds
- Drop project notes for the engineering team
Review the drawing & check out
Snapfab auto-generates a part drawing from your upload — material, color, finish, tolerances, project notes, all set to SPI commercial ranges based on resin and feature size. Review, download a PDF for your team, and head to checkout.
Pay with a card via Stripe or submit a PO. Snapfab only charges once production begins — the dashboard updates the moment the tool enters the queue.
- SPI-grade tolerances calculated per material and feature
- Drawing PDF downloadable for sign-off
- Stripe card or PO terms accepted
- No charge until production kicks off
Chat directly with the shop
Once you check out, your project dashboard becomes the workspace. In-app chat connects you straight to the engineering team running the job — no ticketing layer, no inbox tag-tennis.
Ask a question, drop a revised CAD file, or share a constraint mid-program. Every project file lives in the dashboard's file repository — accessible and downloadable any time you need them.
- In-app chat with the Snapfab engineering team
- Share quick updates or attach revised files in the thread
- Full project file repository available from the dashboard
Follow along with SnapTracker
SnapTracker is a live status bar for every program — kickoff, tooling, first-shot, QA, packing, ship. Open the dashboard any time to see where the part is. When it ships, the tracker switches to live carrier data; click Track Shipment for an exact ETA.
When it's time to run the part again, reordering takes seconds. Open a past project, hit Reorder, adjust quantity or notes if anything changed, and check out — original specs are preloaded.
- Stage-by-stage status from kickoff through shipment
- Live carrier tracking once the part leaves the dock
- Reorder a past program in seconds — original specs preloaded
